IHMS provides healthcare to detainees within Australia’s onshore immigration detention network, as well as offshore in Nauru.  IHMS has been providing services in the Immigration Detention Network for 20 years.

Personnel and Infrastructure – IHMS provides health and medical services to facilities within the IDN. These facilities are located in both urban and rural environments. IHMS has developed a flexible staffing model which allows us to scale up and down our workforce in order to efficiently meet the fluctuating demand on healthcare services from the Immigration Detention Network.

Covid Services

  • COVID-19 Outbreak Plan

    IHMS successfully manages COVID-19 in immigration detention facilities with the implementation of Outbreak Management Plan and measures including screening, COVID-19 vaccination program, education sessions, excellent infection control practices and ensuring access to anti-viral therapy.

  • COVID-19 Staff Safety

    IHMS ensures the safety of all staff operating with potential exposure to COVID-19 and maintains required PPE and testing supplies. IHMS collaborates with multiple stakeholders including local public health units to ensure the best outcomes for patients, staff and facilities.

  • COVID-19 Vaccination

    IHMS has been vaccinating residents in the immigration detention network against COVID-19. IHMS tracks all vaccinations administered, orchestrates follow-ups for all multi-dose vaccinations, monitors adverse reactions, organises all vaccine ordering and logistics, and manages the complexity of cold chain management for all locations, including the remote Christmas Island site.
